Garden Cinema Hire FAQs

How long does my hire last?
Our standard hire duration is 24 hours, but we will of course be flexible with delivery and collection times where possible

It's due to rain, can I still use the garden cinema?
Our garden cinema experiences are for dry use only. If you have a marquee or gazebo we can set up in here for you. Alternatively, you can hire a gazebo from us at an additional cost.  If you would prefer, you can postpone for a later date at no additional charge, subject to availability. 
 
Do I need to use it at a specific time of day?
As with most projectors and screens, the set up works best in low light environments.
If you're looking for daytime screening, we would recommend using a gazebo to place the set up under to block the sunlight. 

Do I have to set this up myself?
No, upon delivery, we can set everything up for you and show you how it works. 

Do you provide the media device?
No, you should be able to connect any device to the projector via a HDMI connection. 

I want to hook up a game station such as Xbox or PlayStation, can I do this?
Yes absolutely, as long as you have a HDMI connection on your box. 

What are the delivery and collection costs, and is there a set up fee?
Prices vary on location and the size of your booking. We will always let you know of any costs when we provide a quotation. 

I'd like to extend my hire, is this possible?
Yes of course, we love that you're looking to extend the hire, please let us know with as much advance notice as possible and we'll see what we can do. Just remember this is subject to availability. 

What happens if I need to cancel?
Please get in touch with us should this be the case and we will work with you to reschedule to a date that suits you better. There may be cancellation fees depending on how close to your event date you are. 

Do you stay during the event to manage the projection?
As standard, all our packages are set up only. If you would prefer a technician on site for the duration of your event, please let us know in advance so we can book this in. There will be an extra charge for this service.

What happens if something stops working during our hire?
You shouldn't have any issues during your hire, but if you do come across any hiccups, we're always at the other end of the phone to support you. 

Do I need a licence to stream?
Red Dress Events is not responsible for the provision of any media licences. You should log into your streaming services on your device to play your media. 

How long does set up take?
We advise leaving at least an hour for set up.
Depending on the package you are hiring, set up time may vary, but we can advise on an appropriate time once you're booked in. 


How much space does the set up need?
We suggest a 3m wide area for the screen and speakers, the projector will sit in front, usually by approx 1.5-2m. 
If you opt for deck chairs or additional furniture, the space required will vary depending on your request. 

Do I need to pay upfront?
In order to confirm your booking we will ask you to place a security deposit down, and payment in full no later than 48 hours prior to your hire.
The security deposit will be held until the equipment has been returned and checked over. ​
